Homemade applesauce is a simple way to incorporate all of the apples that I have in my fridge! PLUS as a bonus, my kids are more inclined to eat something so simple!

Ingredients

4 cups peeled and diced large apples about 10 apples, I used Granny Smith
¾ cup water
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon if desired

Instructions

Add 4 cups peeled and diced large apples, ¾ cup water, ¼ cup granulated sugar, 1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, if desired, to a large pot.
Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 25-30 minutes.
Once the apples are tender, mash them to your desired consistency.

Notes

For a thinner applesauce use an immersion blender, food processor, or blender.
