Ingredients

2 (12 ounce) bags fresh string beans ends trimmed
3 tablespoons butter
4 cloves minced garlic
salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Boil a salted pot of water for the beans and also prepare a large bowl of cold water with ice cubes. Trim the ends of the beans.
Once the water is boiling, add 2 (12 ounce) bags fresh string beans and cook them for 2-3 minutes. Drain them and add them to the bowl of ice water so they stop cooking.
Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the butter is sizzling, stir in 4 cloves minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
Drain the beans and add them to the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes, tossing/stirring often, or until the beans are as tender as you like.
Season the beans with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serves 4-6 depending on how much people eat.
I use kitchen shears to quickly trim the beans.
I prefer using sea salt in this recipe.
